SVE Chin Spoiler from Latemodelresto

I just received my chin spoiler a few minutes ago, and my first impressions of it is very good. The texture and material is exactly the same as the Ford unit, not shiny like the AM spoiler. It comes slightly folded on both curves, but it isn't creased in the middle. You can install it without sitting it in the sun. It comes with new mounting hardware. Not bad for 69.99! I'll let you guys know the fit when I install it tomorrow. The UPS man also brought my 31 spline cobra diff, Moser axles, 4.10 gears, Moroso studs, rear bushings, seals, and my hood decal. Tomorrow is going to be a great day!! Pics to come.

Sounds good! I wish I had known about that one prior to getting the AM one.

Re: SVE Chin Spoiler from Latemodelresto

Yeah, I was up in the air about it, but Latemodelresto has never let me down, and they have a comparison on their site between the three that they carry, SVE, Ford, and a urethane one. I searched for reviews on the SVE one, but couldn't find one. I pulled the trigger and so far I like it. I just can't justify paying 200 bucks for the Ford unit. Hell, my mosers, cobra diff, gears were 600 total, so 200 bucks a chin spoiler is crazy.

Good to know there are other cheap options to the AM one. I'd rather keep my busted up one than use the one from AM. I didn't realize the factory ford one was so expensive, thanks for sharing.

Re: SVE Chin Spoiler from Latemodelresto

I bought this same one last week and my husband installed it on Saturday. It's actually just a tad longer than my stock one on each side and my husband had to drill holes to line up the passenger side evenly (started on the driver's side). It somehow got out of line with the pre-drilled holes but it looks great and the texture of the chin spoiler is really good!

I've read that you are supposed to start from the center and work your way to the ends when slapping these on. Maybe that would have helped.

Re: SVE Chin Spoiler from Latemodelresto

I started from the center, then I did each hole symmetrically. I fit perfectly, and as someone mentioned earlier, the install kit they give you is terrible. But the fit and finish is just like stock, and you can't tell the difference imho.

Did you use the install kit?
