They did a bike on American Chopper, and showed the process. It is very interesting so I dug up some vids on youtube. There was one company that would take your design and make the film for you.

Would that not chip when they mount the wheels.

it is used in military and mostly guns applications. it is very durable.

they have pricing on their website....mine was 480.00 but had a lot of parts done
