'Snap shot' for insurance reduction?
Dont know if this is new but I just saw on Progressive website this device. You plug it in, drive for 30 days and send it back. Then in 6 months, you can get a 30% discount. Says it doesnt track how fast you drive but I dont believe that.

Re: 'Snap shot' for insurance reduction?
I saw the commercials for it and was wondering how it worked. I go through State Farm and don't plan to change but interested to see how this works.

Put it in a NASCAR cup car before a race, then send it in.

Re: 'Snap shot' for insurance reduction?
Yes, plugs into your OBDII port, it monitors acceleration, braking, etc.... thats how they base your discount. If you have too many fast accelerations, or panic stops, you don't get the discount or not as much depending on how many you have, do some searching and reading on it on Google...interesting.

Re: 'Snap shot' for insurance reduction?
I'd never put that thing in my cars. I drive far too aggressive to ever qualify to save even a penny. No other insurance company can touch my rates with State Farm.

Re: 'Snap shot' for insurance reduction?
Sounds like Big Brother sticking his nose into your car. It's voluntary right now, but how long before it becomes mandatory and then the insurance companies start charging you surcharges and fees for "spirited" driving. I think everyone should say "No thanks".
