Carlisle 2009 Check-in Thread

Once more the Mach Gods smiled upon me and I had a pleasant 10-hour drive to Carlisle. One of them must have a cold and did sneeze a little precipitation on the windshield coming through WV and Maryland, but that was it for bad weather.

Was today a Cop holiday? Knock on wood, but I didn't see any and I drove 662 miles today (LOL). Hopefully they were busy solving crimes today and didn't have time to be on the watch for me doing 10 over most of the way here. 80 mph with the air conditioner on all the way and 25+ mpg is not too bad.

Anyways, I'm here in the Homewood Suits Hilton (Host Motel) in room 123. I'll see the rest of you guys tomorrow when you arrive. I'm getting ready to head down to the lobby for their complimentary evening snack and then try and stay awake till 8:30 for when they put the hot cookies out in the lobby.

Later,

Bill, glad you had a safe trip. Shame Mother Natural didn't clean your car for you this year. I spent most of the morning clay barring in the rain.

Packing up now. Picking the kid up from school @1:15 and then it's about a 1.5 hour drive to Carlisle, pick up the registration and over to the hotel.

Re: Carlisle 2009 Check-in Thread

You guys need to petition Carlisle Events to change the date of this event! It's placed at the wrong time of the year! I think it should be moved to the fall, like September or October. I went to one All Ford Nationals Carlisle event, and it rained, and it was miserable, I was miserable, and my wife was miserable! Made for a real dandy weekend. Haven't been back since.

Well, at least tomorrow and Sunday are supposed to be decent weather days! Good luck y'all!

I agree with that move it,plus you have the nascar race at pocono the same
weekend so I guess I can't make both. next weekend there will be nothing to do
and there won't be a cloud in the sky...............

Re: Carlisle 2009 Check-in Thread

Back from the show around 2:30, still drizzle and wet....feet are wet and cold.
Looks like around 5-6:00pm should stop raining? We are hoping, we have the conf. room reserverd for the BBQ, they even moved one grille under the canopy for us.

See everyone soon (that are going to be here).

Re: Carlisle 2009 Check-in Thread

We arrived yesterday and met up with the mach1 crew at Hooters around 8pm. Rain stoped about halfway here but started up overnight. Today just plain SUCKED. We registered, watched Scott Hoag and crew do a few installs and walked around and got wet. Sunshine tomorrow!

Re: Carlisle 2009 Check-in Thread

Hi All, 5 ½ hour ride from Buffalo took a little over 6 hours today due to road construction and a lot of rain. Arrived at the show field just in time to pick up the registration so that I don’t have to wait in line tomorrow. Took a quick run through to see if anyone was around. Just some ducks waddling around. Weather forecast for the rest of the weekend looks awesome. Should turn out to be a great weekend after all. Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow and hope everyone had a great time at the BBQ.
