Bassani Headers

What's the overall opinion of the Bassani headers?

I've got the stock manifolds with a Bassani SS O/R X and cat-back right now, and I love it!

I'm thinking about adding headers (long-tube or mid-length), but I'm not sure about what I should go with.

Would I have to buy a different Bassani X pipe if I bought the Bassani mid-length headers?

Also, what is necessary as far as gaskets go when you install Bassanis? I've heard the gaskets that come in the kit don't work very well and leaks develop. Someone told me to use a new Ford OEM gasket in conjunction with the provided Bassani gaskets.

Let me know!

Re: Bassani Headers

if its the 5 piece x pipe then it will work.
the mid lengths come with adapters that will run from the collectors to the offroad/cat sections of the xpipe.

Re: Bassani Headers

Yeah I've got the 5-piece stainless X-pipe.

What about the gaskets?

Did you use the supplied Bassanis with them or just the new stock gaskets?

Cool - That's about what I've heard from other folks.

Any other opinions from anyone?

Re: Bassani Headers

unless your dead set on bassani headers, id go with a set of kooks longtubes.

I ran a full basani setup for about a year and it never gave me any problems with leaks and sounded great. If i wasnt going with a TT setup, the headers would have gone back on when the motor went in.

Re: Bassani Headers

I've actually just been talking with a buddy that has his own private Mustang shop, and he said to avoid the Bassanis altogether. He recommended BBK ceramics with locking header bolts and OEM Ford gaskets so that's what I'm going with.

Re: Bassani Headers

I am also looking into getting headers, i have already got bassani from the mid pipe back. Was wondering if i could throw a set of bbk longtubes on there and make it work with my mid pipe since it is the 5 piece bassani, or if i have to switch to a bbk mid pipe?

Re: Bassani Headers

I had/have the same setup. I was on stock manifolds with SS Bassani O/R X & cat-back before. Now I have BBK ceramic longtubes, BBK O/R X, and SS Bassani cat-back.

You'll need to get the BBK short X-pipe for those headers. Chances are you could sell your stainless Bassani X-pipe and probably break even buying the BBK shorty X-pipe since it's a lot cheaper.
