ABS Hydraulic Control Unit
I guess my Mach is starting to show the signs of an eleven year old car that is a DD. Yesterday I saw yet another fluid leak on my drive way...nothing major, a few drops is all.
I know I need to get new brakes, mine are atleast 6 years old and I notice that the parking brake light comes on for a second or two under heavy braking....which I though was a sign that the fluid was low...i.e. need new brakes. But the other day I had to really get on the brakes big time, then later on I notice that I had a couple of drips just under the front bumper on the passenger side. I pop the hood and it lines up really well with the hydraulic control unit for the ABS. This was the first time I have ever seen a drip there and I could see an visible fluid dripping from the control unit. Today under normal braking conditions...no drips. Looking for any advice on what you think it could be...am I stressing it or should I worry? Thanks in advance |

Re: ABS Hydraulic Control Unit
What did/does the pedal feel like?

Re: ABS Hydraulic Control Unit
Clean off the abs unit with brake clean, and have someone push on the brakes really hard... And look for leaks. I doubt you'd be able to get a abs unit from ford still.
Abs delete maybe in your near future!!

Re: ABS Hydraulic Control Unit
I'm not sure if Ford sells them, but I bought a used replacement ABS unit off ebay for my old DSG Mach 1. They are still close to $200 though.

Re: ABS Hydraulic Control Unit
Man, I just sold mine on E bay for $100 shipped. I went with Phil's delete setup. If your buying a used one make sure it says Cobra on it as the GT units are different. Make sure its for with or without T-control also.

Re: ABS Hydraulic Control Unit
I would gladly trade my ABS unit for a Phil ABS delete. I have disabled my ABS and no longer need it (obviously).
