Those who have aftermarket 28 spline axles
How fast have you ran without problems and has anybody bent one? I have moser 28s, girdle, axle brace, welded tubes, and 4.10s. Just want to know from ppl who have experience how hard i could safely run them.

Re: Those who have aftermarket 28 spline axles
way back when, I ran 12.30's @108mph launching on slicks wth Nytrous in my '96 GT and never had any problems, but I believe the "rear girdle" had Alot to-do wth it living as long as they did, which was 4 years.... now, at about the same time, a friend of mine broke 3 28 spline axles inna' a matter months, running 13.90's N/A and on Hoosier "DOT" tires....and NO girdle
I now have 31 spline Moser axles and a spool in my car but when I replaced the axles, my 28's looked great |

Re: Those who have aftermarket 28 spline axles
I ran 28 spline Mosers for several years in my auto. That included hundreds of passes with 1.7x sixty foot times. I switched to 31 spline because I had contingency money coming from Moser. The old axles were still fine and they were a lot lighter. I also had a girdle the whole time.
Can't speak for a stick car though.

Re: Those who have aftermarket 28 spline axles
I have 28 spline Mosers and 4.10's. I go to the track 4-5 times in the summer. However, most are private rentals so more runs than test and tune. I am getting 1.7x 60' and 12.60 quarters with no problems so far. Running MT ET drag radials 17".

Re: Those who have aftermarket 28 spline axles
I had 28 spline Mosers and the girdle in my fox body went 1.51 60 foots and had no problems so you should be OK but you still could have a problem.

Re: Those who have aftermarket 28 spline axles
I ran 11s for a year or two with 1.50 60 foot times on the stock 28 splines in a Fox. Swapped out for yukon 28 splines at the time I did a 5 lug. Another 2 years since then...no issues. Launch rpm 5000, 150 shot off the line.

I have bent the 28 spline Mosers, but never snapped one. I have returned a set of Moser axles that had to much runout..
