A Beautiful Day
Well "it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood" I think I'll go wash and wax my car. Everything is closed and nothing is on television.
An extra coat of wax never hurt anything. Big Ron |

Re: A Beautiful Day
Sounds like a plan. It's amazing that of this social distancing seems to really be happening on the internet. So many of the sites I frequent (including this one) seem very quiet the last few days.

Re: A Beautiful Day
Not a bad idea.
but, since I work from home I am fortunate that my job is not presently impacted. Kids are home, but we have that well under control. Kinda nice in a way though. Gyms are closed so i think tomorrow we shall just go take a walk. Maybe hit the pond and drown a few worms... Reality and full speed ahead pace will be back soon enough.

Re: A Beautiful Day
As I run a retail tire shop, I don't know what the day will bring, but so far it has consistently brought customers. If our corporate overlords decide to shut us down, I don't know what I'll do. May a deep cleaning on both cars. People need tires, and food, and entertainment, and fresh air. We are a social animal, and although we were gravitating towards social separation already thanks to technology and Amazon and streaming, this forced separation feels draconian. It's probably smart for the short term, but I hope when we're past all this people realize the important things, the people around us.

Re: A Beautiful Day
Spent my morning sandblasting a sword scabbard and polishing the sill plates for our 66 Mustang. Weather outside sucks, so may do some woodwork this afternoon.
PA ordered the shutdown of all "non-essential" business's at midnight last night. They vaguely defined what was non-essential, and are not going to legally enforce it. All restaurants have gone to drive through or take out only, and all fitness centers have closed, but most business's seem to be staying open to some degree. Hard to shut them down fully when people have to pay bills. It's a tough decision to make. On the upside, I live in the middle of nowhere, am pretty much self sufficient and stocked, and am retired, so I don't have to face the world much if I don't have to/want to.

Re: A Beautiful Day
Is there irony in the fact that all the public venues have basically been cancelled, but the grocery stores are constantly jam-packed with people?...
I've asked several people about what instigated the toilet paper hording and no one knows. _ |
