Electrical Question...

I'm trying to diagnose a weird problem with my electrical system. The effected area is the radio, a/c compressor, gauges, reverse lights, and power windows. Is the ECM or PCM responsible jointly for these components?

More detail on "weird problem" please. Comes on and off at random? When going over a bump? Comes on and works fine after I drive the car for 5 minutes? Shuts off after I drive the car for 5 minutes? No work at all? All of those things in an 04 are tied into the same post on your ignition switch, Acc#2, including the GEM. ECM/PCM are the same thing, your body control module is called the Generic Electronic Module. This little netbook sucks looking over Mitchell, just figured I'd get lucky with a 50/50 shot on the year. I'd like to help you with this one... And do you posess/know how to use a DMM?

Re: Electrical Question...

Oddly enough i seem to have diagnosed the problem I'm having down to a bundle of wires that runs from the firewall to the under dash fuse panel...when i tug on it a little, it shuts down all those components, so i tied it up high with zip ties to release the tension and... voila... all better.

Thanks for your help.

WOW, that sounds too easy. I hope it really fixed the problem? Good work.
