As a Bat-fan, she got my attention, I had no idea at the time of the depth o her talent. She was fun and funny. Seeing her in a recent interview, she hadn't lost any of that drive or talent. She was a class act till the end. She will be missed.

RIP, she could not have been more American. Haa, white father and a mother that was half black and half American Indian. That had to be tough growing up in the 30/40's. She was a real survivor.
