Who has replace their tremec with TKO 500 or 600?
If you replaced your tremmec 3550 with the TKO 500 or 600 which gear ratio did you pick? why? which clutch and pressure plate assembly did you use? why?

Re: Who has replace their tremec with TKO 500 or 600?
I have w/ a tko600 w/ the .64 od gear i think. It was what was for sale at the time. It came with the spec 3 clutch and I put a new fidanza flywheel behind it. Worked great and shifted flawlessly when pulled. The spec doesn't let you slip the clutch like stock. It's a really grabby clutch and once it touches the car wants to go.

Not sure how much hp all of them handle, but the spec 3 did a great job and still looks good after a few thousand miles and several track passes launching anywhere from 4500 to 6500 on et streets and et drags. |

Re: Who has replace their tremec with TKO 500 or 600?
I will be changing out the current FRPP T-56 for the TKO600 in the near future as I feel I'm living on borrowed time.
As I understand, the T-56 is rated at 440 lbs of torque whereas the TKO600 is rated at 600 lbs. I'm at 668 lbs of torque right now... |

Re: Who has replace their tremec with TKO 500 or 600?
I opt'd for the TKO600 with .82 OD, this is their roadrace trans. My Mach is not a DD and rarely goes on the freeway. I love this trans, you don't get a bog with the .82 that you get with a .64 or .68 overdrive....

All good info. So as I can tell the tko 600 should be great. As for price who has done this swap most recently? Where did you source your parts? Did you do your own install or pay someone else?

Re: Who has replace their tremec with TKO 500 or 600?
I've noticed the TKO to be a bit notchy, but mine shifts fine at 6500rpm.

Re: Who has replace their tremec with TKO 500 or 600?
They shift exactly the same as our stock Tremec Tranny's IMO.. unless you have them faceplated or something they should shift the same stock for stock

Now I am not sure, what does face plating mean?
