The only bad thing is the one thing that makes this car a '1 of 1' has been changed! Other than that, it is an exceptional car.

Re: Ebay: 1970 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler

Wow…I remember looking at a car nearly identical to that one 1974, same color and all with the exception of being a C-6 automatic. Dealer wanted $900 and couldn’t sell it because gas had shot up to $ .50 a gallon (that’s fifty cents) and there was no market for muscle cars (LOL). This one does look better than a brand new one did in 1970

Here is my brother's 1970 Cyclone Spoiler when he was 18 in 1985. The 429 Cobra Jet was tough to beat on the street. He blew that up though and replaced it with a 460.

I have a Buddy who has a 70 Cyclone spioler 429(auto) and a 70 Torino 429 (4spd) Both in Grabber Orange in his garage. I will say that they do not however look quite as nice as that car does. He has owned um both for over 20yrs.

Nice car but I think I'm just as impressed with the presentation as I've never seen a better auction page. That guy must have spent $200 just to list the thing with all of those fantastic pictures. I thought I saw dust on the dashboard before I realized the dust was actually on my computer screen!

Unusual car, rare too! I have a friend who bought one when he was 16, over 20 years later he still has it. If we had only known, back then, what these cars would be worth 20+ years later.

Re: Ebay: 1970 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler

I have been a real fan of the 69 Talladega. I saw a nostalgia racer on a trailer in Birmingham this Tuesday, it was a clone of the Torino that Richard Petty won 10 races in. It sure looks funny seeing a Petty blue Ford. The owner claimed to have a Talladega from the era that was going to be painted like the David Pearson car.

Pics of the cars from that era and one of a nostalgia race, sure looks fun:

Re: Ebay: 1970 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler

I really like the Torino Talledaga as well. I have a friend locally that has an original paint Royal Maroon Talledaga that he has been trying to sell for years. They just don't bring the $ that a 'regular' Cobra Torino does. Odd...

Thanks for the update. As shocking as that sounds, I'm sure it will bring $75K a couple of years from now.
