Re: how to change shifters?
I know this is an old thread, but nonetheless was wondering what the general consensus was on the shift stop bolts?
I recently changed out my tranny fluid and used a Cobra Bob gasket vice the adhesive.
Using a Steeda Triax that previous owner installed. It currently has the stop bolts in it from the day I purchased and been driving it like that for the past 4 years.
Read that the stop bolts needed to be readjusted after removing and replacing the shifter so I was doing my research and stumbled on this post where some where saying that Tremec recommends removing them.
So whats the consensus? Currently they are in there, however, I backed them in some leaving at least and 1/8" gap between bolt and shift lever.
Sorry I'm a newb and dont want to jack up my trans. Thanks in advance.
