It really shouldn't change just because you added a blower. She you're not in boost its am NA engine. It's when you keep getting into boost that the mpg drops. And generally it'll do a little better with an aftermarket tine because it's dialed in a little better. Just my experience at least.

Back when I had my 01 I decided to see what kind of mpg I'd get staying out of boost. I got the exact same as when I drove it like normal. Well, normal for me.

You don't have to run it down to the light coming on. Just fill it up and divide the gallons by the mileage on the trip odometer.
