Aww I guess so...lol
I used a tiny flathead screwdriver with the end wrapped by a microfiber towel. Start at the bottom of the insert and pry outwards. (You could cover the bottom corner of the scoop with painters tape too if you're worried). Once youve got the first tab free, you can put the screwdriver down and use just your fingers for the remaining tabs. Only 3 or 4 total, cant quite remember. The new inserts will just press in. No need to remove the scoop.
