It simply depends on what the numbers reference. Production numbers are the most misunderstood numbers out there in car enthusiast world. There are different measurements and different sources so understanding what the numbers are representing is key.

Some sources refer to the number of actual vehicles that came off the assembly line. This could include pre-production models, models kept within Ford for testing, or for internal use never intended to leave the company.

Some sources refer to the number sold to the public through dealerships. This is a number reflecting what is potentially on the road today and available for purchase.

And some sources only reference U.S. sales, or maybe North American Sales only, leaving out overseas shipments all together. So both numbers are probably correct, but represent different figures.

YMR's numbers reflect number sold to the public in this case. Dave's M1R number may reflect the actual units produced by Ford, not sure.
