I had to loosen my hydro booster on my cobra. It was a pain but, I got the valve cover out without removing it completely. It would probably be best though to completely remove it first. It also makes it easier to disconect the clutch cable but, not a must.

did you loosen the plate on the fire wall or loosen the 5 star bolt that go around the booster itself?
