By power you mean electrical or that you can start it and it runs??
I'd see what the adjuster says, your right though they probably will total it out. The upside is you could always ask what they would sell it back to you for. You might be able to buy it back cheap enough to make it worth keeping. If you started drying it out right away chances are the long term damage is probably minimal.
