That may have been my issue. I was attaching the motor to the assembly because those arms were pretty tough to move with the spring tension.. then installing the piece as one. So I wasn't sure which of those grooves/notches on the regulator assembly to make contact with the motor gear as you can pick one of like 30 options, changing the degree of the arms.. And the misalignment.

Tomorrow I'll disconnect the motor, install the regulator assembly, raise the window all the way, then install the motor. Hopefully those are the correct steps and everything lines up. I imagine the spring will make this difficult to get the arms where I want.
If I missed anything please let me know.
