Not entirely true. Did you ever actually wind yours out in 4th and put it in 5th? I did with 4.30s and it still seemed to be pulling quite sprightly to me. 4.30 gears turn 5th into an actual useable gear for accelerating.
It's worth noting that street racing at those speeds is stupid, though. Highway rolls should be left to Supras. :OOPS:
