If you plan on drag racing the car, definitely get the studs and also pick up open end lug nuts. The stud must protrude into the hex portion of the nut at least the diameter of the stud. 1/2 in diameter stud means stud must protrude a minimum of 1/2 in past the face of the wheel surface for non-stock wheels per NHRA/IHRA rules.
