You can go fast on the stock motor, that's not the problem. The problem is detonation under a power adder, nitrous being the worst. You can hurt the motor N/A if using crap gas on an aftermarket tune!

Using pump fuel at your local station is the number 1 problem when producing a high performance tune/motor now a days. You need to find/have good octane fuel all the time!

I guess you can look at 450 rwhp meaning someone that is careless with their fuel, tune, plug checking/gap/so on, and the factory motor still can be hurt, being the powdered metal rods are the weak link. Second, are the factory pistons top ring land thickness. It's a safe average is how I look at it.
