Are you talking about the seat reclining back and hitting the rear seat or are you talking about the lumbar support collapsing and laying completely flat? The drivers seat has an air bag inside that allows you to release or fill it with air for extra/less lumbar support. If that airbag collapsed then ya the seat backing would go flat.
