They make their slaw, french fries, and onion rings homemade. Like I said, different BBQ from checkered pig. If you do go, I think they only take cash.

Another good place is Clarence's Steakhouse, right on 220 about 4 miles from Carolina line. Just simple home cooked food, best hushpuppies in the world.

There are several hole in the walls here that are amazing. Some of them make you go 'I m not going in there.'

Stopped at the checkered pig/ pigs r us on the way down. It was great! Maybe try this one on the way back.. On Monday at lunch there were many people waiting for a table. Followed your instructions on the way down, around 2 hours from Martinsville to hotel
