The little ecoboost is surprisingly quick, I rarely tow anything but I suspect it will tow an open trailer with the Mach when needed. I've had other trucks for instance a 2002 dodge v8 and it is much better than that truck, but not in the same class as the SRT 10 truck I had.

I drove one that had a decent tune, nothing aggressive, mainly trans adjustments and remove the pedal delay and it was fantastic, which is why I decided to get this one. Crazy to think this little motor makes more power and torque than our Machs did when they were new.

Ah, if you ever owned an F-150 with a 4.6, this little 2.7 blows it away.

So, to answer the question, it is more than adequate for 5400 lb truck. Yes, I was skeptical at first as well.
