Re: race gas
Not so fast, my friends. Some of the common leaded fuels have more energy content. The only way to see is empirically.
Why C16 - If I was doing it as an experiment, I'd start with VP110,...

Re: Tasca ford @ new england dragway
5.0, I was sad to no longer see you go by each day in 2011. Either you're driving something else, or, moved !
Come by someday, or we can hit Kimball's. I have 5 screwed up disks and am taking...

Re: Tasca ford @ new england dragway
Results....for the two race (i.e., heads-up) classes, anyway.
Street Shootout had 4 cars. Jeff Pulaski qualified #1 with a 10.02, beating out in the 3rd decimal a nitrous car that also ran...

Yessuh....
Look for two blue cars and some old folks sitting in folding chairs.
Added overnight: Threat of rain in weather predictions has lifted, just "cloudy" now.

Of course. I live in New England, don't I?
If you're planning on entering the Showdown classes, keep in mind qualifying is on Saturday, eliminations on Sunday...one day won't do it. Real...

Re: N.e x275?
No, although I nearly entered last year because N/A cars can run bias DOTs and I get to run a Pro Tree....associate Jeff Pulaski runs, though, as has Bill Meserve (who may have a new car soon).

Re: Short Throw Shifter
The 3650 (or T5, for that matter) shifter remove and install is a dish of ice cream. I wish the new cars were the same.
The stress-inducing stage of the job is prying up the plastic shifter...

Re: 2003 Mach 1 air filter
It makes no difference at all. However, dropping one in along with twisting off the snorkel and tossing it in the garage is the equivalent of buying your 2003 a drink and gives you the confidence...

The rain here in Westford is THICKER on glass than straight rain (no joke). I can easily see your extra elevation making it snow.....

Re: 21 dec 2011
The first one of these scams I remember was in February 1962. As for the Mayan scam, they never said 2012...think they ran out of space on the calendar stone (effed up).
After I typed that, I...

Re: very important guys!!!!! your must read this
I've used Royal Purple since 2006, and my engine is quiet as any. I don't cycle it like an open track guy would (e.g., Epple), but you can tell I lean on it if a no-mods car runs mid-12s. I plan...

I can tell from the rounded end on the bigegst piece that you had to roll the car back around to the pits. Of my two times, the first allowed me to muscle the car onto a trailer, so the broken end...

Re: Which Short Shifter?
I removed and sold a Tri-Ax because it was notchy compared to a Pro 5.0. People stuck in the 1990s (like me) favor the Pro 5.0, and unprejudiced folks favor the MGW.

Re: your Mach's nickname
Dunno, I used to name all my fast Fords Rutherford I, II, etc., but stopped doing that with the '85. Now I call them "The '03," "The 2012," and so on. Not sure why I stopped - about the same time...
