I have a set of the MM struts with coil overs and springs, they handle really well, the ride is stiffer than stock for sure. It all depends on the application, the MM's version have extra bracing for...

Larry, you can do the compression test/leak down test yourself, it really is easy and a really good tool to have with boosted motors. Mine passed the gas test but failed the leak down test, most...

See pic below; they are the two rear freeze plugs to look at; very hard to see with the intake on but you can see and replace them without removing the intake....

Larry, I had the same issue in the very beginning, it was a freeze plug on the head, you can see if from the top, far rear of the engine. I will get you a pic.

I have not forgotten; my car is in a unique position that I cannot get into my attic, but will as soon as I can.... she's perfectly in the midst of the motor swap. :( But should be back to a roller...

My head gasket is blown as well, but no noises. Time for a teardown.

I am assuming you did a leak down test?
