Re: 4.56's, do you like em?/ 4th gear top speed?
I am running a 4.56 gear, about 7000rpms you will probably be around 120mph. If you are going to spray it I would not reccommend a 4.56. When i cross the traps I am finishing at 6700-6900rpms. The...

Re: 4.56 Gears
I am one of those cars and again highly recommend them. At 70mph my rpms are at 2400-2600max. Throughout town youll be in overdrive at 35mph if you wanted. I still get 23mpg with my car, I say go for...

Re: Ford Racing Cams Installed - WOW!!!!!
A lot of good cams out there - I like the Comp offerings and Crane cams. I just went with these because they are somewhat mild, but offer some good gains and a nice idle with a little lope. They have...

Re: Ford Racing Cams Installed - WOW!!!!!
Just clean up the bowl area and gasket match. Be sure to use high flow valves - more flow for the money with high flow valves. We have the valves, but have not installed since we did not remove the...

Re: Ford Racing Cams Installed - WOW!!!!!
The off road x-pipe added more loudness than anything in the exhaust. The headers woke it up in the higher rpms. The cams along with the exhuast have a pretty mean idle - the cams hit enough at idle...

Re: Ford Racing Cams
I bought mine for $1,100 and then installed them ourselves which saved a lot of money. Im sure you will be more than happy with the results. I never dynoed my car before I had the cams so I can not...

Re: Ford Racing Cams
Springs and valves are definitely important in the installation. Every story I have heard about people that did not use the springs/valves have always had complications.

Re: Crower high lift cams- anybody?
You need headers and gear before installing cams. I was just looking at your list of mods - did not see those items. You can install without, but all the cam manufacturers will tell you those items...

Re: Ford Racing Cams Installed - WOW!!!!!
I wish I would have thought about that....the install was definitely a PITA but was well worth it. We just had a few pictures here and there and that was it, sorry. Good Idea though.

Re: Calling out Bassani and Hooker header users
Yeah - they are a little pricey, but like "White2003Mach1" says - quality is first rate. Dropping the K-Member definetly makes the install much easier. I just went ahead and installed a tubular...

There is a tool for 4v motors and a separate tool for 2v motors. I actually bought both tools. The 2V tool will only get to half the springs on a 4v...
