Re: Hawk Blues

Hawk blues are great for track use but they MUST be heated up first. If you are running on a cold track, early in a cold morning, be careful, especially if your brakes are ducted.
I would not even...

Re: Toyota recalls more than 500,000 cars

Saw a Ford commercial lately that said Ford was now the quality of Japan vehicles. Maybe this isnt such a good strategy in light of all the recalls?

Re: Tremec problems

I agree w/the tranny fluid change. Filling through the top w/the shifter out is really nice. I really hate the bottom pump method, what a mess.

Re: Now this is cool

Looks nice. I wonder if you can get different guages than stock. For instance, I'd like an oil temp and a real water temp guage..and maybe even a fuel pressure guage for diagnostics.

Re: do you guys think m&m full lenth subframe connectors make a difference in handling???

When u get them welded in, make sure your carpet is out of the vehicle. My buddy's carpet smoldered and caught fire. He got it out but not before his interior melted.

Re: Big brakes for the rear?

Thanks again Jeff, Yes I did read the article and sent a PM to Nuke. I'm hoping this will be a viable option.

Re: Big brakes for the rear?

Thanks Jeff, that is exactly what I'm looking for. I'm encouraged by NukeSublDo's statement that they fabricated a "specially designed bracket for e-brake caliper, etc."
Maybe there is hope yet :)

Re: caliper boots and ball joint boots burned

My caliper piston boots didnt last one season. I just left them until I upgraded the front brakes. I probably had some contamination with the brake fluid, but it really didnt seem to be a problem.

Big brakes for the rear?

I would really like to get some 4 piston calipers/rotors/hats for the rear for both the increased (and level w/no nose down stops @ speed) braking and the ease of changing out the pads. While I found...

Re: Suspension set-up/Brakes question

My first "performance mod" was a panhard bar http://www.maximummotorsports.com/, followed by full subframe connectors. This was followed by an MM torque arm http://www.maximummotorsports.com/ and a...

Re: Installing Manual Fan Override Switch

Just my $.02 but with the car off you wont get the advantage of the air cooling the circulating water. When I'm running hot in hot weather on hot asphalt , the motor increases in temp if I just turn...

After 3 full seasons of SCCA Time/Club Trials road course events, my MM coil over Bilstiens are starting to get tired and it is time for an upgrade. I think the more you compete, the better you...

Re: Brake upgrade help

I second the Brembos because they are just so easy and fast to change. Put on your street pads and change them out before you go to the track. If you go off course it is so easy to come back into the...

I've found that using smaller pads really help. Just go to your auto parts store and ask for mini-pads :)
