Re: Brakes not completely releasing

After pumping them a few times and easing down the drive way I couldn't hear rubbing like before. The car even felt "free'er" getting up and going. But the stopping sucks. I have a firm pedal....

Re: Brakes not completely releasing

So, I went to do some more testing before attacking the master cyclinder. With the passenger side caliper resting on a box with no pads in, pressing the brake pedal made one piston push out but the...

Re: Brakes not completely releasing

Well, I'm back on this subject again after being a terrible Mach owner for almost a year.

I drove the Mach several times since all this...enough that the pads or rotors one should have wore enough...

Re: Ticking/clicking noise after turning ignition off...

Well, a new battery did the trick.

After jumping it off one time I decided to leave the jumper cables on and turn the Mach off. It didn't make the clicking noise. And cranked right up. I hit...

Re: My how the auto industry has changed

The one good thing about new cars, when calipers aren't releasing, something drains your battery as soon as you turn the car off, the revs jump between shifts or climb while idling...you just drop it...

Ticking/clicking noise after turning ignition off...

Subject about says it all. I'be let my brake issue (plus having a new born) detract me from messing with the Mach. I went to crank it and I had to jump it off and it jumped right off. I let it set...

Re: Brakes not completely releasing

Also, I noticed MM doesn't have rear braided lines for the 96-04 solid axle cars, but they have them for every other model. What's up with that?

There is a quick vid. It's not the best, but you can see as soon as I let go of the wheel it probably only makes a slightly better than a 1/4 turn.

Re: Brakes not completely releasing

One of the old calipers wouldn't fully retract, but the new caliper and Hawk HPS pads wouldn't go over that new rotor. I actually had the rotor turned down some so it would slide over. But since then...

Re: Brakes not completely releasing

I'm just curious if it could be a brake booster issue or something along those lines. If everything goes right. I'm going to jack the rear up and see if it is doing the same. I haven't changed those....

Re: Brakes not completely releasing

I used an old pad and c clamp to compress the caliper.

But the one caliper obviously wouldn't retract as much as the other, I even bent my cheap c clamp trying. The replacement seemed to compress...

Re: Brakes not completely releasing

Brakes not completely releasing

I went to change my pads and rotors and noticed I had a little bit of brake drag. I ended up having to replace one caliper because I couldn't get the stock one to retract far enough to get the new...

Re: On the fence about selling the Mach..

I might just be sentimental, but I sold the 03 Mach I bought brand new in late 2006. In 2013 I drove about 1000 miles round trip to buy another that looked almost identical and optioned the same as...

Re: Replaced Seatbelt...looking for slotted push pins.

Well, the previous owner had installed aftermarket subs at some point and the way the wire is ran I would be curious if they pulled that piece off and lost one or two.

Thanks for the help, man!

Replaced Seatbelt...looking for slotted push pins.

So, I replaced my drivers side seatbelt yesterday due to a fray in the belt. While pulling the upper interior piece I noticed there are push pins that have two "heads" an eighth inch apart that slips...

Re: The love affair is over.. Sold my Mach...

It's a blast. At my local events everyone is pretty friendly and just about everyone will give you the shirt off their back to help out.
