Re: Engian & drag legend Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins dies

At age 5 or 6 years old, my brother taught me how to draw a drag car on the track. The car was Grumpy's Toy. I had never seen the car before this so I was an instant fan when I first saw Bill on the...

Re: Any of you guys Auto Cross?

I have a few suspension mods on my mach and it does very well in stock class. This year I have been quicker than several of the 5.0's and a Boss 302. I could probably drive the Boss 302 faster than...

Re: 1st Autox of the year

The type of parts swapping you're talking about is allowed in Street Prepared classes, not in stock. GM built several custom ordered Camaros and Firebirds that were modded by SLP. Many suspension...

Re: 1st Autox of the year

I'm confused.. In post #3 you said same as from the factory. In post #6 you said one mod was gears. Did you order the car with a different gear ratio or change the gears yourself? If you can show the...

Re: First Quarter Mile

I launch around 3k but slip the clutch a bit so I only spin the tires just a small amount. Best 60 ft so far has been 2.04, with my autox setup. Stiff shocks, big frt swaybar and stiff sidewall tires...

Re: Road tar remover

1 more for WD-40

I've tried many different bug & tar removers over the years til i used WD-40. It cleans the tar off faster and with less elbow grease than anything else I've tried.

Re: bleeding brakes.

Yes, use the turkey baster to remove as much of the old fluid as you can from the m/c first. I usually add just enough fluid to aid in cleaning the m/c then use the turkey baster and bleed out all of...

Re: Did a solo brake fluid change tonight...

I always empty the M/C first with a turkey baster, clean the reservoir and then add the new fluid. The fluid will still be a little dirty so I don't fill it to the top, maybe half way. I then bleed...

Re: Autocross??

Back in late '04 on a completely stock mach1, I ran 48 psi front and 28 rear. With the jack and spare removed and 1/4 tank of gas, the car was neutral. This was tested on a skidpad in both...
