Re: Commuter Car under $3k Saturn??

Don't get the Saturn - they are the biggest pieces of sh*t. I made the mistake of buying one for my daughter with only 55k miles on it. It was about 2 weeks after purchase that it left her stranded...

Re: What all blowers will fit under the shaker?

There's room to fit a 4.0L whipple under one, you just need to customize the brackets and disassemble shaker so that only the top piece remains.

Re: In desperate need of help with my 4v swap!

Sounds like you need to replace all the cluster wiring under the dash and the front body wiring harness (not the engine harness). Do you have an official Ford Electrical book for a 2003/2004 mustang?...

Re: Real supercharger cost and performance question

Key to saving money is doing the work yourself. I found a wrecked cobra with a highly modified engine (low miles), whipple, big oval TB, RAI, upgraded fuel system, 6-speed transmission, etc and have...

Re: Almost Complete Eaton swap

Using Harbor Freight tools What did you expect?

Those tools are good for light duty use only, unfortunately. However, I admit I have them too but use Craftsmen when I want something more reliable...

Re: Eaton swap weight?

I'm guessing around 50lbs added. I gained 130lbs by putting a 03 cobra engine assembly (iron block) plus IC reservoir, IC, heat exchange, fluid, etc. If you subtract the 80lb difference between WAP...

Re: SCT iTSX wireless tuner

They also work with the Pro Racer Package... I confirmed that a few weeks ago with SCT. Pretty slick for sure!

Re: New dyno numbers with cams and intake

Don't add global timing unless you have a quality knock sensor and data logging to see loads/rpms where it detects knock. With timing, it's best to take small incremental steps and when audible knock...

Re: New dyno numbers with cams and intake

Looks to me like the tuner took the out of the box "race fuel" tune for a mach 1, added 2 degrees timing to the top three rows and called it done.

You could try adding another degree in rows 4-6...

Re: Understanding Mass air's transfer function

A supercharged engine making 510rwhp will require significantly more airflow than a naturally aspirated engine making 510rwhp. According to you (based on your statement above), I could take a MAF...

Re: building a motor for boost, need some opinions

I've seen published numbers of 10.1:1 to 10.3:1 for stock mach 1. The engine on my car is 8.65:1 (17cc dish pistons) but I'm running a PD Blower (whipple). For a centrifugal/turbo, you can get away...

Re: Understanding Mass air's transfer function

When you want to understand the horsepower limits of the mass air meter for sizing purposes, you most certainly do need to understand what's going on after the meter. An efficient engine will produce...

Re: building a motor for boost, need some opinions

JE Pistons: http://www.jepistons.com/Products/257540.aspx

Eagle H-Beams: CRS5933F3D

ARP 2000 Rod Bolts

Rods and Pistons will handle 1000BHP and the price isn't too bad. If you want 650rwhp...

Re: Understanding Mass air's transfer function

If I understand your math, you used STD (aka STP or Standard Temperature & Pressure) conditions to convert kg/hr into cfm. Technically it's 2.0447 but you rounded down. I used SAE conditions to...

Re: 331/314 Mustang Dyno

Take it to the track, that's the real performance test...

Those numbers should be good for at least 113mph-115mph trap speed.

Re: Understanding Mass air's transfer function

To be more prescriptive here, any changes made before the MAF (CAI/RAI/Bigger Air Filter) do influence the flow characteristics and measurements by the MAF.

Changes such as heads, exhaust, under...

Re: MACH 1 kenne bell mammoth LC build

Surprised you are getting spark blowout. I'm still running stock COPs, no BAS, NGK TR7IX Iridiums and run up to 20psi with no issue.

What plugs are you using? That timing seems incredibly weak....

Re: Understanding Mass air's transfer function

Not quite sure why you are driving that point home. It's pretty well known mass air systems (if operated within range) can adapt to changing air flow conditions (elevation, barometer, humidity,...
