The spacer has nothing to do with the ball sockets, if you take the shaker assembly off the car, then flip it over you will see 6 10 mm bolts holding the assembly together, if you remove the 6 bolts...

My dad was the original owner, I took the Mach over when he passed away, at that time the the Mach had aprox 8k miles on it,

It is my DD and the only issue it has ever had was the fuel pump needed...
