Re: Has anyone done the Caddy ATS Brembo front brake upgrade?

Good to know, I buy stuff on SVTP occasionally. I've only gotten bit once and it wasn't that bad, the rest of the time I've dealt with honest people.

I'm out of town next week and way too busy...

Re: Has anyone done the Caddy ATS Brembo front brake upgrade?

Thanks guys. I had found the repair geek video after posting this. I went ahead and bought all the parts needed for the swap. In a few weeks I'm going to test fit the new caliper and see how much...

Has anyone done the Caddy ATS Brembo front brake upgrade?

Apparently there is a hardware kit that allows us to bolt on the ATS 4 piston fixed caliper to the front. S&S Engineering makes the kit. I read up on this on a few other forums. No one seems to...

Re: Welp my engine is dead....

She is still running strong guys! I still love her. I'm torn between doing a coyote swap on her down the line or just staying with the 4.6L long term. I posted up the motor swap in another thread:...

Re: 03 Mach 1 open heart surgery

That is a good question. The motor was running rough and I'm fairly sure I felt/heard the chain snap so I suppose it is possible the cam stopped turning and that is why the chain snapped. When I...

Re: 03 Mach 1 open heart surgery

Well, I think we know what caused the engine to finally stop working.... It is a lot more obvious in the second picture. I had a pic of the broken chain but somehow it got corrupted on my phone. ...

Re: 03 Mach 1 open heart surgery

For anyone that is wondering, where the hell do I put an aftermarket coolant temp sensor into my block? Well here is the answer. Well, at least one of the answers. There is a plug in there from...

Re: 03 Mach 1 open heart surgery

Been a while since I posted. The project is currently on hold but I've got some pics to throw up. I am currently visiting my family down in SoCal/working remotely until the middle of next month so...

Re: 03 Mach 1 open heart surgery

I didn't get too much done two weekends ago. Just got the balancer off the old motor and cleaned things up a bit. This past weekend though I got the old motor out of the cradle and completely took...

Re: switching from Steeda Tri-Ax to MGW short throw shifter

As others have said the MGW is really stiff when new and takes some getting used to. I have MGW shifters and I love them. The only thing that is really bad when they are new is getting into...

Re: 03 Mach 1 open heart surgery

I'm going to use the valve covers off my 03, I just want to keep it looking stock for the most part. The black ones I've got my original motor are in great shape even after all this time.

Re: 03 Mach 1 open heart surgery

Oh ya, I'm going to get out the simple green and some rags for sure. The trans is covered in a thin film of oil and I'm certain the under side of the car is as well.

I'm hoping to do the oil pan...

Re: 03 Mach 1 open heart surgery

You can see the power steering pump on the left of that first pic. I tied it up/out of the way to the sway bar mount. Once I had everything on the floor, I pulled my T56 magnum off the bell...

Re: 03 Mach 1 open heart surgery

Here are some shots of the engine bay when I was lifting the car. First time I've ever done a motor pull by lifting the car off the motor. It is strange to see the motor "sink" in the engine bay...

Re: 03 Mach 1 open heart surgery

You were remarkably right when you said I was so close. Yesterday I got the PS pump off which wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be since I popped the pulley off a while back. I used...

Re: 03 Mach 1 open heart surgery

Thanks, I'm hoping by posting all this information up that other people will benefit from the small details I post up.

This weekend, hopefully, I'll have the motor/trans out of the car.

Re: 03 Mach 1 open heart surgery

Ran over the 5 attachment post limit there. Here are the last 2 pics. You can see from the previous post the rear main seal wasn't in, then it was and this is what it looked like after the slinger...

Re: 03 Mach 1 open heart surgery

Please note, OTC 7786 is NOT the correct tool to install the rear main seal on the modular family motors. It is for the 4.0 V6 and has a different bolt circle than the modular V8 crank does. It...

Re: 03 Mach 1 open heart surgery

Here are the last few pics I hadn't posted from previous weekends.

I put a new oil filter/coolant adapter gasket in. I used my Milwaukee M12 right angle die grinder to clean up the gasket...

Re: 03 Mach 1 open heart surgery

Just wanted to post this up for anyone else in case they need the info. The replacement exhaust stud kit I bought from LMR is Dorman part number 03411. The kit comes with 10x M8-1.25 studs and 10x...
