Re: Ocassional Miss

Just turned 100K and just put in plugs, fuel filter, air filter. I bought it use with 98K on it and it did it from the start. Just hate when things don't work as designed.

Re: Ocassional Miss

New plugs, fuel filter, and air filter did not solve the problem. I'm getting good at avoiding the rpm range where it happens. The drive to work is a lot more fun! I'm going to ignore until I get a...

Re: Ocassional Miss

Not sure. Never knew the previous owner. Only other strange thing is the traction control light is always on.

Ocassional Miss

What should I be looking for in chasing down an occassional miss at 1500 to 2000 RPM in 4th and 5th. Happens when you are at part throttle on a bit of a pull. It will miss a couple times and go away...

Re: Metallic Noise when pushing in Clutch

It isn't making the noise a bad throwout bearing would make. It's like the throwout bearing or clutch fingers are binding against something. There's no TOB squeal. I also find the TOB is against the...

Metallic Noise when pushing in Clutch

Just made a 1200 mile trip in the Mach and started hearing a metallic noise similar to two pieces of metal rubbing against each other without lube. It usually happens when the pedal is about 3/4 of...

Re: Spent the day at the Bonneville Salt Flats

I have a clone to yours. Looks good on the salt! Made the trip in 2003 and met a guy who was running a 69 Boss 429 that he bought new. It was 1st class and had been racing it for years. Thanks for...

Re: Summit Racing Short Throw

You're right on all counts. Does the MGW shifter have an adjustment that allows you to take some of the notchiness (spelling?) out? The best thing I've done so far is the firewall adjuster, cable,...

Summit Racing Short Throw

Just swapped out the Summit Racing version of the Steeda Triax shifter for the stock unit. The Summit shifter was way too notchy and 50% of the time it would not go into reverse without a struggle....

Re: Clutch Pedal Travel

Replaced the cable, quadrant, and shifter along with a firewall adjuster. Made a bg difference. Clutch feels so much better now. Shifter seems notchy but is definitely a short throw.

Cool Re: Wheel Hop Shock adjustment

I saw some of the control arm options. Might have to snag some lower arms. It's hard not to hammer the car somedays! The wheel hop reminds me of my 62 406 Galaxie. Until I tied it up I broke a few...

Wheel Hop Shock adjustment

As a new Mach owner I noticed some wheel hop issues and I'm sure this has been discussed a million times. What is the cure? Are the Tokico shocks adjustable and if so how?

Finished Clutch Cable Install

Finished instaling a Ford Racing Quadrant and adjustable cable along with a Steeda firewall adjuster. The difference is worth the $$ and time. Clutch engagement point is more liveable for sure....

Re: Reno Hot August Nights

Was there when the gangbangers caused issues. It was late in the evening and I understand there were some cars damaged in a parking garage/lot. Didn't feel threatened though and had a great time. Try...
