Re: Bilstein B6 rear shocks installation issue

I think you may have the bushings in the wrong order. The cone shaped bushing usually goes on the bottom, faces up and goes thru the hole in the chassis. The other bushing goes on the top. Try that.

Re: MGW installation and metal in fluid

If trans works fine then it's probably ok. I would top off the fluid which is another 6.4 oz.

Re: MGW installation and metal in fluid

You didn't say how long the fluid has been in your trans so it may or may not mean something. It seems like Tremec calls for 3.2 qts.

Re: 3 stud caster camber plates

If you're planning on open tracking or autocrossing the car I suggest getting the 4 bolt plates.

Re: Power Window acting up

Interesting. Mine has done that a few times over the years and it seemed to be heat related. Car sitting in the sun in the summer for example. Take it home and put it in the garage or park the car...

Cancel the cable and get a stock replacement from Maximum Motorsports. Yes it's a big deal.

Re: Lowering Springs W/ C&C Plates

You better find out what the spring rates are. A lot of the basic lowering springs for our cars only drop about 1/2" and the spring rates are very close to the stockers. One thing you have to...

Re: Motor oil

These pans I believe will hold 9 qts and somewhere on this site someone tested it. Unlike the old pushrod motors the crank is contained way up in the block and not partially hanging down in the pan...

Re: Motor oil

The occasional smoke on start up is most likely coming thru the PVC system so your oil separators should cure that. I use the high mileage Mobil 1. Car has 150,000 miles and I have tracked the crap...

Re: Oil Analysis on stock engine at ~130,000 miles

Mine has 150,000 on it and I have tracked the crap out of it for years and my last B Stone report at 140,000 was perfect. Getting ready to do one at the current 150,000 mark.

Re: Coil cover gaskets/grommets.

What I learned a long time ago is to put a dab of RTV on the grommet and a little on either side before you put the coil cover on.

Re: What's a 160k mile Mach worth

Mine had 150,000 miles and I have tracked the crap out of it for 12 years. I keep it well maintained and it runs like new. Oil analysis is great along with compression and leak down. Plugs look great.

Re: Ignition coils

My stockers are still good at 150,000 miles and the general recommendation for replacements are the OEM. I think you will know when one goes bad.
