Re: Love my Mach.... But

I can track down or take some pics of the heat extractors. I used vents from a marine application And painted them. They do work to some degree lowering underhood temps. I did move battery to trunk...

Re: Raised nose & "wala" better traction

I use the Maximum Motorsport coil overs. Simple height adjustments and good quality with no noise associated during normal or track driving.

Re: Raised nose & "wala" better traction

Yep, How do you like the Nitrous? Been going back & forth on that for a long time now. I don't drag race so I keep stopping myself as it would probably have limited utility.

Re: Raised nose & "wala" better traction

She handled really well before but even with the TA and my moderate power level 1st and 2nd gear were just spinning. 4:10 gears. I'm only putting down 320 to the wheels. With 315s and TA I should be...

Raised nose & "wala" better traction

So i decided to raise the nose of my 03 mach this past weekend 3/4 inch because I was scraping exhaust all over town. That lift resulted in tons more rear traction. Measured center fender opening...

Re: Will 17X9 rub at full lock in front?

I've never used Sumitomos but have heard they are pretty bad for performance driving so you are probably correct in the large difference you felt had more to do with tire compound/quality. Ideally...

Re: Will 17X9 rub at full lock in front?

Another suggestion for your wheel decision. For a dedicated track wheel I would suggest the lightest weight wheel you can find. Of course forged is best but for those of us on a budget, the old SN95...

Re: Will 17X9 rub at full lock in front?

It was hard for me to get it as well. To be frank I did not get it till I drove on both a staggered setup 18x9/10 265/35/18 and 315/35/18 and the stock rubber 17x8 245/45/17s. The car ran much better...

Re: Will 17X9 rub at full lock in front?

Wide tires in the rear will not help you in autocross imho. I would recommend same size all around and go with 275s, much more balanced car. Really our cars need as much rubber in front as possible...

Re: Will 17X9 rub at full lock in front?

That surprises me on the R888s since they are a race compound. Thanks for the compliment. I really like the blue side stripes they pop on the black mach.

Re: Will 17X9 rub at full lock in front?

Here are a couple pics with Nitto 255/40/17 on 17x9 wheels. I am lowered on coil-over front suspension. No rubbing on the road or autocross track. I've never tried the R888s but as stated they are...

Re: Will 17X9 rub at full lock in front?

If you want to auto cross I would suggest getting a 275 tire for your 17x9 wheels. I have 255 Nitto NT05s on mine and really wished I had a little more width up front. 275s will go on when these wear...

Re: Hype over the 2015 vs '94, '99, '05

Good points all. I really like the design of the new corvette despite being a "Ford" Guy with a Mach 1 and F150. Just saying. I'll definitely take a look at the new mustang when it hits the dealer...

Re: Hype over the 2015 vs '94, '99, '05

I hated the '94 cars when they came out being a die hard fox body fan. I owned two '88s. A notch and hatch and loved those cars. If I could find a clean T-top car I would get it. The '94-98 never...

Re: Hype over the 2015 vs '94, '99, '05

Falcontho3, I agree with you. I think its a different advertising strategy of the mustang by ford. I always thought they touted the mustang as a premier vehicle. It now seems they are appealing to...

Re: Hype over the 2015 vs '94, '99, '05

Maybe I'm just not feeling this car. I did not like the 2005+ models either which is why I still have the mach. Maybe if they do another "R" model. The new one is just not enough of a radical change...

Hype over the 2015 vs '94, '99, '05

Seems to me the unveil of the 2015 is anti-climactic. I was around when the 1994 was released and it had way more hype and a much more radical design change over the previous cars than the '15....

Re: Wheels not even.

The problem with our cars is the diff is not centered on the center of the body of the car but on the suspension pick-up points. In my car, I'm sure do to manufacturing tolerances, the suspension...

Re: Wheels not even.

All else being equal sounds like the rear axle is not centered. Had the issue after panhard bar install. Easily fixed with adjustable panhard bar.
