Birdman-- is that the lower compression version? After all this hell, why not throw a blower on.... I have no clue how I'm going to get this motor out, but gotta learn one way or another lol

Head gasket?-- would any wicked noise be associated with that prior to the smoke? I didn't see the...

Well I pulled the plugs... #4 (pass, closest to firewall is very black) all the rest look the same. I will post pics in the morning:(

Well she died today, RIP, noise got terrible then it turned off. Got it restarted and had faint smoke coming from the top of the engine, centered, back by the firewall. I'm going to pull the plugs...

She has ~130,000 miles. A wicked chatter (tick?) has become very present. It follows rpm, it is from start up all the way thru the band, clutch in just brings the noise back to the rpm. To qualify...

So will the oil in it function to the same level as the Motorcraft will. i need to make sure b/c I'm headed off for the dragstrip tomm. night for the first time. i want to make sure the car is ok.
