Re: Help Identify this trans part

So that will get you connected. That part will plug in.

What were your plans to address the differences between the signal output of the manual and automatic transmission when it comes to that...

What were you planning to do for a speedo signal?

Re: Help Identify this trans part

Its a simple change in the tune to use the 04 transmission in an 03. Your tuner should know what to do.

Re: Help Identify this trans part

As long as your car is an 04 then that is really the only difference. Just didn't want you to be all ready and then have to wait to sort it out.

Re: Help Identify this trans part

Yeah, before you go taking anything apart it might be a good idea to take a tape measure and measure the length of both of those transmissions. You'll see the problem then

Re: Help Identify this trans part

You're not going to try and put that Marauder transmission in your Mach are you?

Re: Trans flush?

Go ahead and have Ford flusk it. It's probably the best service you can get for it short of pumping out all the fluid and replacing the filter.

I've never seen a clogged filter and you aren't...

Re: How to change your 5 speed to an automatic

I don't know how I missed this post, but I did.

I hope you got it sorted out. What was almost surely wrong is that the transmission wasn't stacked correctly. Either the forward clutch or reverse...

Re: How to change your 5 speed to an automatic

You're doing fine. I don't have the software to draw it up, but I'm pretty sure you could make those circuits latching on-off so that you can use a single momentary for each by adding 2 more relays...

Re: How to change your 5 speed to an automatic

I think either way it's less to go auto now. The Baumann controller with harness is less than just the TB valve body.

Re: How to change your 5 speed to an automatic

Ok, I don't have the circuitry drawn up, but I know what you have to do.

Find a pressure switch that fits into the direct clutch pressure test port on the transmission as follows. The contacts...

Re: How to change your 5 speed to an automatic

Yeah, it's tough trying to find accurate info on the web because so much of it isn't. For example, the 99-02 transmissions are pretty much internally identical. Things changed some in 03 and again in...

Re: How to change your 5 speed to an automatic

As an update, I have had a couple of customers install these and they love them. Easy to use and work awesomely.

Re: How to change your 5 speed to an automatic

The transmission for the v6 is the small block bolt pattern and won't bolt up to a modular. Assuming you have a modular that is.

Re: How to change your 5 speed to an automatic

Man, since Bob brought it up, it's nice to have an aftermarket controller that I'm comfortable with finally. Thanks to him for having the initiative to try something new. He called me about it and I...

Re: How to change your 5 speed to an automatic

If you want to use a factory ECU then I would stick with an 04.

I would grab the shifter, brake pedal assy, automatic harness, flexplate, block plate, converter access cover, yoke off the...
