It's crazy how time flies. I hope you all are doing well.

This community and its members holds a huge place in my heart still for it played a huge part in my life as I was "growing up." I like to come back here time to time for those reasons. Namely Mike,...

Re: TPS voltage won't go below ~190

Yep. Tried a second TPS. Throttle reads 1 and then flashes .75 and back to 1 and back to .75, whether the TPS is plugged in or not.

Possible wiring? No idea how I could have ruined everything...

Re: TPS voltage won't go below ~190

Something tells me this isn't good lol. This is the old one. The new one flashes back and forth between 1.00 and .75, so I think it's busted, as I don't think it's actually getting a read at all. I...

Re: TPS voltage won't go below ~190

I'll have to try again today. Maybe I read the scanner wrong. I'll snap some photos.

TPS voltage won't go below ~190

Changed the IAC valve and the TPS today.

Removed old TPS, installed new one, started car up, held a rev at about 1800 rpm. Actually decided to research the TPS and learned it needed adjusting....

Re: Car died while driving on highway and sputters after a couple hot starts

I think it might be the valve cover gaskets taking a dump on me. Spark plugs have a decent bit of oil on them. I imagine that's messing with the spark. At least that could explain the ignition/idle...

Re: Car died while driving on highway and sputters after a couple hot starts

Sorry guys. Every time I remember to check back on this thread is usually while I'm driving and then by the time I am home or at work I completely forget.

Latest example: Car was sat from Thursday...

Car died while driving on highway and sputters after a couple hot starts

First occurrence in December:

Driving 70 on highway
Suddenly lost throttle response so I pulled over as the engine was sputtering and making a sort of "popping" exhaust sound beneath me...

Re: Uh oh, oil on the spark plugs. What do?

113k miles. The build up makes sense since I seem to be losing oil, but it's not leaking out onto the ground so it's going somewhere.

Happens in all weather though it's mostly warm to hot here...

Uh oh, oil on the spark plugs. What do?

Brief history:

Last year I changed my plugs... slight oil on plug 8 (I believe it's 8... driver side rearest)
After the oil change, on first start up, I noticed smoke out of the exhaust....

Re: Highest Mileage Mach 1

My only car and has been daily driven for the last 12 years and still to this day. Right around 113,000 on it now. Drives smooth but things are definitely starting to wear out somewhere. She's a...

Re: 2018 Plans for your car.

Keep it driving. Still running well after daily driven for so many years. Notice a bit of a burning smell while under a decent load so maybe my goal is to figure out the cause.

Oh, and probably a...

Re: The Wheel Pictures Thread

After all of these years I would still love some 10.5" Mach 1 replicas. Tired of the cost of 18" tires!

Re: Please give this quick video a listen... engine noise (still)

I'm going to change the oil again in about 1-2 months myself and see how it looks. I had to take it to the dealership because no way was I driving the distance I had to go with possible low oil...

Re: Please give this quick video a listen... engine noise (still)

So I finally got home from my trip and got the oil changed. Was emergency dealership change as soon as I left the airport since my oil pressure gauge decided to start hitting L momentarily when I...

Re: Please give this quick video a listen... engine noise (still)

The needle on the gauge reads about 12:05 directionally speaking.

If the weather holds up tonight, I am going to change the spark plugs and see how those look for starters. Then on the long...

Re: Please give this quick video a listen... engine noise (still)

Oil pressure is showing normal on the indicator. Not sure if that is an absolute accurate measure of it though.

Please give this quick video a listen... engine noise (still)

Hard to tell where left or right of the engine the sound is coming from but I can tell you it is coming from the very front.

Ideas?
