I use Ultimate quick detailer by Meguiars, works great. beads up and the water just runs off the windshield when I drive in the rain.

My Mach had the front bumper air brushed to touch up rock chips. Maybe you can get a clear bra that helps a little but does not give complete protection.

I agree with stangfan. I would wax them. The back to black is just for exterior plastic. The stripes are glossy on the side below the doors and if you wax them then they will look a lot better.

I use Meguiars Gold Class exterior trim detailer, Great results and it is less messy then the mother back to black which seems to be runny. both are great the megs last a little longer.

My Mach does it sometimes too, I start it and it barely starts the it revs up to normal operation. I think it is just the way the car operates on occasion at start up.

You'll be fine, I had to drive my Mach home from LA and it sucked, I put in 87 mixed 50/50 with 91 and it was fine. I would go ahead and since you said it was down to 3/4 of a tank I would fill it up...
