Re: Spark plugs and lack of power

Same issue on my '01 GT. Multiple tune revisions through e-mail with Bama and the car kept pinging.

I finally got sick of it and bit the bullet and paid for dyno time locally and the car ran...

Re: Wheel Bearing Nuts?

Yep, mechanical leverage. The farther from the hub you mount the caliper, the more braking force you'll get.

But, regardless of rotor size, covering the entire surface with brake pad would still...

Re: Wheel Bearing Nuts?

Oh, and I forgot to mention that the reason I became suspicious is because at the end of last year's car show/cruise season, I was starting to hear a very faint noise from the front end. The noise...

Re: Spark plugs and lack of power

I stayed with the factory Motorcraft plugs when I did mine, and my car runs like a scalded dog. It surprises people how quick it is for a 16 year old 99% stock car.

I also have a SCT tuner and I...

Re: Wheel Bearing Nuts?

Ended up not being a big deal. I just put my 24" breaker bar on it with the 36mm socket and broke them loose pretty easily.

BTW...the nuts on mine were actually not 36mm. The 36mm fits, loosely,...

Re: The Parts Farm?

Yeah those are the primary reasons I wanted an Eaton swap. It's a cleaner looking installation when it's done, and it sounds like heaven under throttle.

Good luck with the project. Post some...

Re: Wheel Bearing Nuts?

Well, I do have a 18" breaker bar. And I weigh 230 lbs. So technically I guess I could stand on the end of the breaker bar and it would get me right where I need to be. Might have to use...

Re: Wheel Bearing Nuts?

Yes the torque spec is 250 ft/lbs. I'm still trying to find out if anybody I know has a torque wrench that will go that high. :3b:

I went ahead and picked up two new spindle nuts. O'reilly here...

Re: The Parts Farm?

I've been watching their stuff for about 6 months now. I'd really like to put that swap kit on my Mach... but my friends are all trying to talk me out of it. They say it's a LOT more work than...

Wheel Bearing Nuts?

I'm at 135,000 miles and I just ordered new wheel bearing/hub assemblies for both front sides and new rotors/pads for both front sides. I also ordered a 36mm socket to do the hub bearing assy. job...

Re: Ford get it together!

Funny because I was thinking in the shower this morning about how I grew up a Ford fan all my life, even before I could drive. My first vehicle at 16 was a Ford F-150. Since then I've had numerous...

Re: Mach Results on E85

I wonder how much the gears affected those numbers? +32 HP with those light mods and a tune is pretty darn good from what I hear.

Re: Rear camera failure in S550

What is it with Ford and short wiring harnesses? They did this on the F-150s also, which would cause broken wires in the door harnesses. :OUCH:

Re: Finally Picked One Up

I hate when people put Cobra front ends on Mach 1 cars. I recently got blasted on the Mach 1 Registry facebook page for my thoughts, but to each their own! :soapbox:

Nice car BTW.

Re: Best non drag radial for stock rims?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that tire a summer tire?

I learned the hard way that summer tires S U C K on these cars. Zero traction unless it's a hot summer afternoon and the pavement is...

Re: Cat-back vs. muffler swap

Thanks guys. I'm not necessarily looking for a certain sound. I'm more interested in squeezing power out of this thing. I figured that 2.5" pipe running into 2.25" pipe isn't doing my car any...

Dang wish I knew you were looking. I saw a complete trans with bell housing at the NMRA swap meet yesterday for $300.

Cat-back vs. muffler swap

What are your thoughts on having new mufflers welded in place of the factory mufflers vs. buying a full 2.5" cat-back kit?

I'm currently running a Mac 2.5" H-pipe into the stock 2.25" cat-back. ...
