I used a very low-gloss black engine paint from the local auto parts. The engine paint withstands high heat and it looks great. Its very black, with only a hint of gloss.

Use baby oil...its not as hard on the paint, and you can clean it off after with soap and water.

i have since had another...a 99 black convertible....and now the 03 Azure Mach....definitely the best of the 'stangs I have owned.
