My first oil sample came back from Blackstone labs...

Re: FRAM Airfilter WARNING!!!!

Well, I guess that's why Fram handles each case individually. Some people understand what happens when completely unfiltered air runs through an engine for a prolonged period of time and will present...

Re: FRAM Airfilter WARNING!!!!

Ok... I just went and looked at my Mach 1s owners manual. Guess what?? Ford doesn't reccomend the filter be changed until 30k and makes no mention of checking it any earlier than that. Considering...

Re: FRAM Airfilter WARNING!!!!

Ummm, you pull your airbox apart and check your filter every 1000 miles or less??? That's just a bit ridicoulous, even on a Mach 1.

Re: FRAM Airfilter WARNING!!!!

Ummm, no. The MAF screen only caught debris large enough to be caught by a coarse woven screen. Silica, the #1 abrasive that's in air borne dust goes right through the MAF screen. If all that I was...

Re: FRAM Airfilter WARNING!!!!

The actual mileage between air filter changes was 7380. 10k was an estimate. I went through my reciepts which I have marked with the mileage of the install.

Fram advertises their filters as being...

Re: FRAM Airfilter WARNING!!!!

That will be my evidence of contamination and damage. The photos of tons of insects in my MAF screen will be evidence as well as the photo of the plastic dome sitting in the airbox seperated from the...

Re: FRAM Airfilter WARNING!!!!

I'm going to have an oil analysis done to prove that there is an excess of silica from no filtration. I'm sure the amount of various metals in the oil analysis will be high from abnormal wear as...

Fuel Gauge Glitch

I filled up the Mach 1 yesterday when the gauge was down to about 1 needles width away from empty.

After filling up I started the engine and the fuel gauge stayed where it was. It did not register...

What's important ETs aside is that they picked up 3 MPH which equates to 30HP. So...Their mods did make a repectable difference on the track in top end speed, but obviously the traction was the...
