Re: Sputtering/Misfiring

I drove the car again this morning to see if it was still sputtering (I had hopes everything would fix itself). Of course, it's still doing it.

It seemed to sputter or misfire just a little bit...

Sputtering/Misfiring

Last night, my car was sputtering while accelerating and idling rough. I believe it was misfiring.

Does anyone have experience with this? Is there a common issue with the coils or something I...

Re: front rotors

Re: Vortech SQ (Standard or High Output)?

It seems like 9lbs intercooled is safe. That would put you close to the 450 mark.

I believe the correct aftercooler system is a complicated install. At least that is my understanding. Someone...

Re: Hawks HPS pads and Bear Rotors?????

I also have hps pads with ssbc slotted rotors and the braking is significantly better than stock.

Re: Vortech SQ (Standard or High Output)?

Your tuner should be able to tell you if your fuel pump is inadequate.

I've actually been running a stock pump with a kb bap for over a year now and I've had no issues. Most people would tell you...

Re: Header and Exhaust Upgrade? (w/Supercharger install)

You will love that setup. I have that catback and it sounds great.

Re: Brakes?

I ended up going with ssbc slotted rotors and hawk hps pads. Thanks for the feedback.

Re: What to do before getting SuperCharged

I think you'll be happy with whatever blower you end up going with. Do some research and get the one that's best for you and your budget.

Make sure you leave some room for upgrading later because...

Re: Brakes?

Yeah, it seems like they are very popular. Both guys I know that have them say they fade badly and put out a lot of dust.

Has anyone used the ceramic pads? How are those?

Brakes?

I am looking to do new brakes and wanted to get some opinions on what would be best to get. I only drive the car 2-3 thousand miles per year and never track it. I want something better than stock....

Re: Narrowed down to Kenne Bell, Vortech or Procharger

If you want the feel of an automatic cobra, a kenne bell would be great. I would not recommend a nonintercooled one though, but they are really expensive if you do an intercooled kit.

I don't...

Re: would you run a wideband or just a fuel pressure gauge?

For the extra money, I would do it. I did actually.

I agree you won't watch it much, but it's nice to have.

Re: Price for install of a Supercharger?

I had mine installed and tuned for $2000. That was for install on an intercooled KB, boost guage, wideband, and gauge pod. Kenne Bell included a chip, so I didn't get a tuner.

18-20 hours to...

Re: Which power adder to go with?

It really depends on what your goals are and what you use the car for. I don't think any supercharger kit keeps the shaker "functional" , but the shaker still shakes!

Re: Positive displacement vs Centri (convince me)

:agree:

The twin screws pull all the way to the top. It feels like stock when you're driving around normal, but screams like hell when you get into it. It makes the car feel like a big block. ...

Re: Lookin for horror stories stock motor and s/c

Actually I do have a horror story (since that is what this thread is asking for).

A friend of mine had an 01 Camaro SS he threw a NIC Vortech kit on. He had a shop do the install and they did...

Re: Made mistake at pump.

You will be just fine. I wouldn't even worry about octane booster, especially since it was just 2 gallons.

If if worries you, just keep your foot out of it for a few days until you get to half...
