Re: GM Makes Headlines, but Ford's the One in Trouble

There's a long list of reasons why Ford's in trouble, but more recently because Bill Ford listened too much to people telling him what he should be doing. I think he's finally realized that he needs...

Re: Car Show on Fort Rucker, AL

Thanks for the invite, but I'm out of here on 4 August. Graduated WOBC last Thursday (I was DHG!), have dunker this week then head home on Friday. Even though I've had a great time here I'll be happy...

Re: Car Show on Fort Rucker, AL

It was a good time, I was surprised how many cars were there and there seemed to be a real good crowd for it. I looked for ya Geoff, but I'm sure you were busy. Your Mach 1 looked great.
Overall a...

Re: Some questions about Mach 1

Guess I should have done some research before saying they were cheap tires. He probably just has a bad set. I had a set of Falkens that were terrible, others said they had them and liked 'em. Just...

Re: Proper S197 Mach 1 treatment

yep, looks pretty sweet. I really like the S197 exterior and interior anyway, put an aluminum block 5.4 3-valve with a T-56 and it would be that much better.

Re: Multiple selection Poll --- Sending Ford a message

Ford's really shooting themselves in the foot. Why on earth would you beat down businesses that are helping make their car so popular?

Re: Some questions about Mach 1

1) those are the retaining springs for the pads, no plugs go there
2) yep, it was added
3) those are some cheapo tires. There's lots of good ones like Continental, BF Goodrich, Dunlop, Goodyear,...

Re: increased warranty on new Fords

All I've seen on Chrysler vehicles (just did a quick check Edmunds) is the 3 yr/36,000 mile bumper to bumper and a 5 yr/100,000 rust warranty.

Re: FORD commercial

yep, it's so bad it's embarrasing. Just as bad is the Freestyle commercial with the lady dropping off her ex-husband after the weekend. Whoever does their TV ads needs to be shot.

Re: voluntary recall?

Never said it was a crisis situation. I just feel all the automakers should be treated the same. As you said, if the latch is supposed to be there it should be there. BTW, have you seen anything in...

Re: voluntary recall?

Apparently you missed the point. The issue isn't whether you think the mandated LATCH install makes it safer for childeren up front, but the fact that it's mandated and Toyota refused to install them...

Re: voluntary recall?

Did you read the article on the link? The Tundra wasn't built with the federally mandated LATCH installed for child safety seats. Instead of making them install the LATCH in a recall, Toyota is doing...

Re: Engine Tick, TSB?

It's TSB 03-11-4.
The TSB is for the '03s, but it sounds like it was never really fixed on the '04s. You can find it on the sticky in the TSB section of this website.

voluntary recall?

http://www.detroitnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060710/AUTO01/607100330/1148

Toyota gets to "comply" with the fed regulations by disabling the airbag shut-off switch? Makes no sense. I...
