Modded or stock?
I know a lot of owners love to mod their cars and some prefer to keep their car stock. I would think that by now, there are fewer stock Mach 1s available than modded ones. Maybe far fewer.
So what category do you fall in? If this has been asked before, I apologize in advance. |

Re: Modded or stock?
When I purchased mine it had C.A.I, Flow Master Exhaust (original in in basement), "MUSTANG" Decal on the rear bumper & Tinted windows. I have removed the C.A.I and replaced with the stock one but I have added the 40th Anniversary Emblem to the Shifter Bezel. I have MACH1 Floor mats to instal in the spring and I REALLY wanna get new Mach Style wheel & tires (glad that AFS is starting again) Only other thing I keep thinking about is the Honey Comb Panel for the rear, but I don't wanna remove the emblems.
So not sure where I fall......both choice's are pretty close :) Stock... Almost like it just rolled out of the factory. Slight changes, but very close to stock. |
Re: Modded or stock?
While mine is non-stock under the hood and floorpan, it is stock in appearance. The only visual non-factory pieces are the Wheel Replica FR5's and SSS rolled exhaust tips.

Re: Modded or stock?
Other than a K&N drop in filter, not too far removed from the way it rolled off the DAP line 8 years ago.

Re: Modded or stock?
As of now it's pretty stock other than bolt-on's/gears/suspension. The only type of cars I can see leaving stock are restored pre-early 70's pony cars, ect.
I just don't see the point in leaving Cobras, Mach 1's, ect. stock. They're really not all that rare and they're meant to be driven. They're not "elite" enough to be the "all factory original" weekend car. That's just my opinion though. |

Mine is far from stock.

Re: Modded or stock?
Performance wise just a drop in Spectre air filter, but lots of tastefull appearance mods.

I loved my older cars (73 Mach 1, the 78 Formula, and 85 Trans Am), but they sure weren't models of quality. They paled in comparison to cars I've owned from the early 90s to the present. I think that's one reason why I keep my cars a lot longer now. |

Re: Modded or stock?
I have a few bolt ons but something inside me is wanting to put the mach back to stock (performance wise) besides the MGW and Borlas. The car seemed more fun when it was essentially stock then modded.

Re: Modded or stock?
Mine "appears" stock (aside from the red stripes :31:)
BUT (big but), I plan to upgrade the exhaust first ( ? x-pipe and Borla catback) and then improve the driveline (i.e. torque converter, build up trans, drive shaft, 31 spline axles and diff and then some gears (don't know what ratio yet though)... |
