Destroying a WRX

Looking for advice. Raced a 2015 WRX on a CLOSED course today. Small but private area WRX owner has. It's a Cobb Stage 2 with full suspension. Went from a 20 roll. I spun and his AWD got the lead. My car's nose was glued next to his rear fender the whole way to 75mph at which point we let off for lack of room but I was starting to pull him a bit. If we had room for more I believe I would have taken him. My mods are in my sig. Any drivers tips for taking these newer turbo 4s would be appreciated. I don't feel I did bad but at the same time I would love to have a bigger stretch of space to really see. Thanks.

the AWD is what go you, if youre not already running one a big sticky DR would be my suggestion

...or just hit him with a 100 shot

That sounds about right, if both are auto, not sure on weight differences but power wise you'r making probably close to the same power.

The Rex was a manual. It was making good power and running rich I'd say, if the flames it was shooting mean anything.

Haha I wish. As tempting as they might be I can't deal with the smog issues I'll have with cams and lts. A stall might be in my future tho...

If he was a manual he should have beat you then if not for a poor tune. Odd he was that rich with a flash tune, they are not usually that far off, hes got some issues going on.

He should be running close to 5spd Mach1 times then.

Cobra cams are smog legal they are a Factory ford camshaft, throw a stall and some 410s with drag radials and give him the gap:CHEERS:

I had no idea but that does make sense I guess I always assumed that it would be a situation like how the Boss 302 manifold is legal on a 12 Boss but won't pass smog on any GT. I'm unfamiliar with which year of cobra cams are best. Any suggestions?

96-98 Cobra intake cams have more duration and are good for 20 whp over stock Mach1 intake cams. The exhaust cams are the same.

Here is a set for $255 shipped on the Corral - http://forums.corral.net/forums/modu...obra-cams.html

Thanks for the link great price for them it seems. I need to talk to my install guy on a quote to throw them on. Raced a 14 GT with full exhaust and intake last night and lost by a full car length. Feeling the mod itch again.
