Anyone going to Houston for the March regional show

Just signed up for the Houston Regional MAC show. Sounds like a blast with the show being at the air park and the banquet at NASA.

Anyone else here plan on attending?

Thanks for sharing. Imma have to try to go to this. Haven't seen the flight museum's new location yet.

The hangars at Scholes field were never the same after hurricane Ike.

I'll be in my Mach 1, and we appear to have a pretty good sized group coming from our area. The idea of having free run of NASA for the banquet is very appealing.

Anyone know the price for just attending on Saturday? I checked the host site with no luck.

I spoke with Mark @ one of the contact numbers and he indicated that there was only one entry fee for the 3 days. And there were no provisions for a one day entry although you could attend just one day. He also said that Saturday was 8 - 5:00pm but that was all he knew. It sounds like you have to be there all three days to be properly judged and recognized. He also said that if something was not right with the registration that someone would contact you to clarify.

When you click on the "register" button you can see all the different pricings for the show but no times or schedule.

I let my membership in MCA lapse a long time ago as there was NEVER an article or writeup that included Texas, I got tired of reading about Florida, Georgia etc.

I think I'll attend the Mustang Owners of Austin open car show at Dell Diamond that same Saturday instead.

Thanks for that info but I was asking about just being a looky loo not a participant. I'm only 15 minutes from Dell Diamond. You just saved me 6 hours of driving.:smokin:

Getting ready to load up in the morning. Should be a good one, if the weather holds out.

Weather should be okay. A little cooler on Saturday. Perhaps you could post up a couple of pics and give us your impressions for a three day show. Good luck and have a great time.

Weather report is looking better. Heard from John and Jenny Clor and they should be there by now. We've got a large local group that are either there now or going to filter in tomorrow. I'll certainly post what I can.

I will probably be down Sunday Morning. I am up to getting together with anyone who might want to Saturday evening.

Anyway, safe travels.

Re: Anyone going to Houston for the March regional show

I'll post up some photos in the next few days, but it was a great show. I ended up with a bronze, and there were only a few of those given out, but there were a lot of golds given out and given the level of most of the cars there were a reflection of the quality of the cars present. One guy had 21 cars there, mostly Fox bodies, all spectacular. The recent 1 of 1 barn find '67 GT350 was there, in all of its dusty glory. Awesome car. The 08 Bullitt prototype was there. I think I counted 6 03/04 Machs in the show. The venue was great, the banquet started off a bit shaky, but the astronaut at the end really made that part worth the price of admission. The flight museum where the show was held was nothign less than spectacular, and people were awesome. One of the best shows I've been to, and I've been to some good ones.

I found some pics of the Houston regional MCA Show. Looks like a good time and interesting. I just could not devote three days to being there. Maybe you have some more pics.

I'm planning on attending the BRAM Ford Show in November.

It was a great time, and I think all but one of our club members brought home a trophy.
Do hope you can make it in November, might have some surprises in store.
