Re: MACH 1's in Michigan?

You Michigan guys better get with it and get something together. Don't let us VA guys show you up. Got over 40 signed up here in VA for a cruise in May.

Re: MACH 1's in Michigan?

I too went to wild woodys several times last summer. i too am plannin on going to milan drag way cuz the one out here sucks real bad. Oh yeah, I'm in Almont, about 6 miles north of Romeo, they guy from davison will probably know where. But, when im not workin nights on the weekends, I usually cruise Gratiot or Woodward. Let me know if, when, where you all wanna meet up at. Preferably on a weekend afternoon or night would probably be the best time for most of us.

Re: MACH 1's in Michigan?

You know I'll feel bad if I commit to a cruise night with ya'll, but the car is under the knife right now and so will be my knee in 2 wks, and its my left and that's the clutch pedal. Don't know exactly how long the down time will be, for both for that matter. But I'll keep watching and play it by ear, and oh yeah, I go to Woodys every sunday also, but never saw your Mach their, and let ya know Detroit Speed Works A.K.A Livernois Performance (Formerly Ramchargers) is now open in the Roseville store. (Rumor has it the mobile dyno will be available for dyno pulls on Sunday night cruises at Woody's) Hope to see sll you there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Lets get our **** in gear and put down some big numbers!!!!!!!!

Re: MACH 1's in Michigan?

I wasnt at woodys every sunday nor the whole day. I would just park and take a look around then drive up and down that area looking for races. I really cant park it and show it off because under the hood is really dirty(daily driver and once in a while during the winter) I hope to see you and your car back in action soon. My car too is under repairs for the clutch again. You gotta let me know how the service was at Alternative too. I called up there once to see how much a Vortec would be plus installation and tune and he told me 7500, I just about **** my pants. Maybe even let me take your Vortec'd Mach for a spin? HaHa, yeah right :gears: :smack: (hey, it was worth the try) Do you know if the new Livernois will be just a store or will it be a shop as well? Because the one in Dearborn is like a 1 hour and 15 minute drive for me just to go and buy parts, and get a tune soon too.

Re: MACH 1's in Michigan?

I am from Romeo area. I have been to Woody's a few times last summer. A get together in the spring or summer at the track or car show would be great. Let me know.

Detroit Speed Shops (Livernois), located on Gratiot between Masonic and 14 mile will carry pretty much the same inventory as Ramchargers, there will be no shop!!!, this is only a high performance parts depot w/links to Livernois for the custom install stuff, like custom tunes, blowers/turbos, heads, cams, yadadada. They are currently open, so if your in the area, stop on in and check it out. They can help you out w/blower setups too, guy down at the Livernois main shop has an 04 Mach w/blower and livernois heads on it. Very Mean Mach, One the MMFF shoot out Machs Vs. Bullitts. Talk at ya later

Re: MACH 1's in Michigan?

Has any of you guys heard of Nelson's performance shop in Waterford, MI. Their website states that they use diablo software to tune. I have a preditor and would like to get a custom tune but I have not heard anything about this shop.

BIG4CAM 03-10-2006 08:02 PM

Re: MACH 1's in Michigan?

I've heard of them, but never came across anyone who has had work done by them, so no yea or nea's about Nelsons. I do however know that Lidio at Alternative does do good quality work, and is very easy to talk to. He however is a SCT distributer, however he won't beat around the bush, example: this is what it takes to do this and this is the price, no exceptions. He also only uses parts on cars that he has personally done R&D on, thus creating a powerful combo. However he will tune just about any mustang combo. Cost is high though, he charged me 500 for a dyno tune and 3 pulls on the dynojet, but he is very smart and knows how to make modular run strong and last. Just my opinion though.

Re: MACH 1's in Michigan?

So it's friday night March 10, the temp is 48 degrees, air is clear, roads are salt free, and the car is out of storage. Im going out cruising tonight because I wont be able to drive in two weeks, surgery on clutch leg. So im eatin up this spring like weather, hope to see ya out there.

Ok update: night's outcome 4/4 (First Night out with new 17x( Mach1 wheels w/ M/T ET street radials

Kills:
SRT-4 neon, stage 2,this guy was pretty cool, his buddy riding shotgun was cocky though, I rolled up next to him and he was flippin his zippo like the neon was gonna "burn me". So i told him, im not gonna lie to you, I have an unfair advantage, ET's out back, well run first time starting at 45mph ill let you go into 2nd, and ill start in 3rd. Outcome: me ahead buy a fender. Second run, I say dead dig, and a cop pulls by so we can't run. He wouldn't race again afetr that.

03 Stang 2V 5spd, full length headers/Offroad X/catback/CAI/Throttle body/intake spacer/and he said he had a 4.10, Dead dig run, Pulled a solid 2.5 cars to 80mph and let off. He loved the Mach, although first he said he would smoke me, hahaha!!!!!!

95 GT 5 spd, 3.73's/E cam/Headers/Exhaust/cobra intake/yadada/, Dead dig run, no question, I got him sleeping at the light, and looked back and i thought he stopped running me. He finally caught up and asked what year, what's done, and that I had just wiped the deck with his ***, he was pretty cool. He probably would take him if he had a Slick, and some better heads than the ET7E's. All in all good race.

03 Cobra, Stone Stock except for cat back/ and had BFG Drags on the IRS!!!!, This was almost a stale mate, I left at only 1500 very lightly, he came out like a bat out of hell!!!!!, I ran through 1-2-3-4 and got him by a fender, but he said he grinded 3rd and had to lift, if he did, so what ill take the win. Cause you know he would have it the shoe was on the other foot.

All in all, this season looks to be pretty good in the making. I was actually getting jealous of all the stories i was hearing about the cars being built. If any of you locals ever go down and watch the detroit street races, it should be alot of fun this summer. :gears:

Re: MACH 1's in Michigan?

Well big4cam, sounds like you had a pretty good day/night. It was killin me when the temp was 70 just a few days ago, my car is still on stands because I am trying to get the trans out. I got it kinda out but I am trying not to take off the headers, but insted, I just screwed my self. The trans on the drivers side is about 1 inch out and the passenger side is still all the way in and jammed on the header. I cannot get the trans back in right either, its jammed up pretty good. I am gonna have to wait till my father comes back from work in Tenn. to get some help. I get too fusturated and give up way too fast. I am hoping that the Mach will be back in the streets in 4 to 6 weeks. Man that is a long time now that I think about it.

Well best of luck getting that car back together, and thats the reason why im glad i don't have long tubes.

speeddemon 03-17-2006 12:02 PM

Re: MACH 1's in Michigan?

I was going to get long tubes too, but either way, long tubes or mid lengths like mine still have to come off. But I have heard that Hooker long tubes do not have to be removed to get the tranny out. Not sure if they have to be loosened but at least they dont have to come off. If I was to do it all over again, I would definatly go the Hooker route, only because it is not as big of a pain in the *** when you want to pull the trans.
